Having trouble finding a good match?

While most NCC Libraries' databases focus on a particular subject, general periodical databases cover many subjects and often contain both popular and scholarly periodicals.

Sometimes general databases are used at the beginning of the research process because they help you narrow a topic. They are also used when your topic doesn't fit into a specific subject.

Examples of general periodical databases are:

ProQuest covers  articles  from thousands of journals, magazines,
newspapers, and monographs on a wide range of topics from 1985
to the present. Many are full text.

Like ProQuest, EBSCOhost also contains a wide variety of journal,
magazine and newspaper articles.

While there is some overlap, both these databases have titles that are
unique.  To make sure your have fully covered documents on your topic,
we suggest that you search ProQuest and EBSCOhost.
